The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time of togetherness, light, and gratitude, and this year’s celebration at CCKSS truly captured the spirit of the season. We were delighted to be invited to join the school’s staff, teachers, and their families for an evening filled with laughter, tradition, and community. It was a beautiful experience to share this culturally rich festival with everyone and to make unforgettable memories together.
A Warm Welcome to the PSG
Upon arriving at the event, we were warmly welcomed by the school staff, and it immediately felt like a gathering of family. CCKSS had created a vibrant and festive atmosphere, with lanterns illuminating the space in soft, colorful hues. As PSG members, we felt honored to be part of such a thoughtfully planned celebration, joining in with staff and families to embrace the Mid-Autumn spirit.
Traditional Mooncakes and Delicious Treats
No Mid-Autumn Festival is complete without mooncakes, and CCKSS ensured that this tradition was well represented. The tables were filled with a variety of mooncakes, from traditional lotus seed and red bean flavors to modern interpretations that intrigued and delighted everyone. As we shared these delicious treats, conversations flowed, and we learned more about each other’s backgrounds and families, bringing us closer together.
There was something incredibly heartwarming about seeing everyone come together to enjoy these delicacies, not only celebrating the festival but also building connections that transcend school walls.
Lantern Fun and Activities
One of the highlights of the evening was the lantern procession, a tradition that captures the beauty and symbolism of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The children, along with some enthusiastic adults, walked around holding bright, colorful lanterns that lit up the night, symbolizing hope, unity, and good fortune.
For many PSG members, it was a joy to watch the younger ones excitedly carrying their lanterns, the light reflecting in their eyes as they laughed and ran around. These small moments reminded us of the innocence and joy that festivals bring, and we were grateful to share in the experience with the school community.
A Night of Bonding and Reflection
As the evening continued, PSG members and staff took the time to reflect on the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Known as a time for family reunions and gratitude, the festival was a perfect occasion for us to express our appreciation to the teachers and staff who dedicate so much to our children’s education and well-being. It was heartening to feel the genuine warmth and sense of unity among everyone present.
The PSG was deeply appreciative of this opportunity to join in the festivities, and the night left us all feeling connected—not only as members of the school community but as part of a larger family.
Thank You, CCKSS!
